Golf is the outlier format in daily fantasy. Here is how the contest is actually structured.

Scoring rewards consistency and streaks

Points come from strokes relative to par on each hole, with bonuses for birdie or better streaks and for finishing position. Because scoring accrues over four rounds, small per-hole edges accumulate into large gaps by Sunday.

The field is enormous compared with team sports

A tournament field runs to well over a hundred players, and you pick six. The combinatorial space is far larger than an NFL slate, which means duplicate lineups are rare and differentiation is cheap.

Ownership behaves differently

With no positions and a huge field, ownership concentrates on a handful of favourites and then flattens quickly. The middle of the field is frequently under-owned relative to its actual win probability.

Common questions

Does a missed cut score zero?

The player stops accumulating points after the cut. Rounds already played still count, but two-thirds of the scoring window is gone.
