The rows above are worked examples, not today’s salaries. Paste in the real board and your own projections to get a lineup you can use. The solver is exact: for a roster this size it returns the true optimum rather than a greedy approximation.

Six fighters, and half the card loses

You select six fighters under a cap. Every fight has exactly one winner, so roughly half of all available selections produce a poor score by construction. There is no equivalent of a losing team's receiver still catching eight passes.

Finish bonuses dominate the scoring

Scoring rewards significant strikes, takedowns and control time, but a first-round finish typically outscores a competitive three-round decision. That pushes lineup construction toward fighters with genuine finishing ability rather than point-accumulating grinders.

A small pool means high overlap

A card carries a dozen or so fights. With six roster spots drawn from that pool, duplicate lineups are common and differentiation is expensive. Correctly fading a heavy favourite is the primary source of leverage.
